Audience members looked on from all three levels of the building's Mabee atrium as Johnson made his remarks.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (UWIRE) - University of Iowa Professor William Reisinger remembers former colleague Arthur Miller as "one of the most distinguished scholars" in political science and credits him for enhancing the field at the UI.

"Since Miller joined the UI Department of Political Science in 1985, he has strengthened the department's reputation in the discipline, and its faculty members and students have benefited from his expertise in political psychology and survey methods," Reisinger said in an e-mail.

2008 could not have started better for the Iowa Hawkeyes. From the opening kickoff, Iowa set a tone both offensively and defensively that Maine couldn't match, and the Hawkeyes defeated the Black Bears, 46-3. On its opening drive, Iowa went 69 yards down the field and junior running back Shonn Greene scored a one-yard touchdown on 4th-and-goal to give the Hawkeyes a 7-0 lead.

Former Buena Vista University(BVU) student Kyle Payne was sentenced Monday afternoon by District Court Judge Don Courtney to serve time in the Buena Vista County Jail for invasion of privacy.

Payne was arrested in February and pleaded guilty in June to the invasion of privacy charges and the second degree attempted burglary charge.
